Enjoy the jumpin’ jazz music, infectious rhythms, and irresistible fun of these timeless dances. We dare you to leave the dance floor without a smile on your face!

Hour 1: Lindy Hop - Whether you call it East Coast, Jitterbug, or Lindy Hop, this is the dance that started it all! Hour 2: Balboa - Danced in close embrace with plenty of fancy footwork, this California favorite is great for fast tempos.

Hour 1: Charleston - Made famous by flappers, this high-energy dance can be done solo or with a partner. It’s the bee’s knees!
Hour 2: Shim Sham - A must-know swing ‘line dance’ incorporating lots of classic vernacular jazz steps and tap-inspired rhythms.

*Emily Vanston began swing dancing in 1998, and since then has danced with such companies as New York's Big Apple Lindy Hoppers, the Lindy Hop All-Stars, The Jivadeers, the Vanaver Carava, and General Mischief Dance Theater. She has earned 1st place finishes in multiple competitions. She teaches at Dance Manhattan studios and throughout the Northeast.
